TAKING A STEP AHEAD..........STILL MILES TO GO..!!!!!

Hey all you guys….thanks a lot for the great response you gave to the MICROSOFT CUGs Recruitment Drive that was held on the 11th of September. The participation was amazing and so was the enthusiasm amongst everyone who participated. Not to forget…congratulations to all the members of the organizing committee-great job done!
Now to proceed further with more technical events to be held in the college we have the 15th of September coming up which would be celebrated as Engineer’s Day! :D :D
“Engineering is not merely knowing and being knowledgeable, like a walking encyclopedia; neither it’s merely analysis nor the possession of the capacity to get elegant solutions to non-existent problems; but it is practicing the art of the organized forcing of technological change…Engineers operate at the interface between science and society…”
They say “Having gratitude and not showing it, is just like wrapping a gift and not giving it
So with a motive of saluting a great personality and expressing a tribute towards an eminent engineer Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya whose birthday is celebrated as engineer’s day(15th September) in India,  we have come up with the idea of “ABHIYANTA”….

A little background history!!!
September 15 is a memorable day in the annals of the engineering fraternity in the country in general and of 'The Institution of Engineers '(India) in particular as on this day 147 years ago, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, the towering personality in the history of Indian engineering, was born.
So being from the same fraternity it becomes imperative that we recognize the importance of this day and pay our regard to this eminent personality who in recognition of his monumental services towards national development and for the cause of engineering,  was honoured with the country’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, in the year 1955 .
Back to ABHIYANTA.....THANK GOD.. :p :p
In the light of this we feel extremely happy to bring you a platform where we will put all our “ABHIYANTAS ” (ohhhh sorry I forgot to tellJ,abhiyanta is the Sanskrit word for engineer)to a test where the ones showing strength ,equilibrium and toughness to resist the challenges will be acclaimed the winners!!!The day will comprise of a number of events to check your strengths on technical, literary and entertainment fronts because for us the mantra is “survival of the fittest”….. so join us hands in hands to make the imagination  painted by us can  be magnified in reality. Hope to see you all there in full fervour!!!!!!!
The following events will test how good you are with your skills as an “abhyanta” :
          War of Webbie Warriors
          DET
          IT Quiz
          Auto-al-Qaida
Akaar

CHEERSSSSSSS TO THE NEW BEGINNING...

Considering that the teachers would be going through our blog as well…lets keep this a little formal...but definitely not boring....

The basic aim of this blog is to have a very friendly interaction with all the students….to keep them acquainted with the upcoming events of the college as well as the output and the feedback to those events. So not wasting too much space and our time let us ROCK ON \m/…….

RECRUITMENT DRIVE BY MICROSOFT CUG (11th and 12th August,2010)

The first event that is going to be held under the Microsoft CUG (Chandigarh User Group) is the RECRUITMENT DRIVE being held on the 11th and 12th of August,2010.  First of all…you would like to know what a user group is about!!

USER GROUP-not making it look like a definition but still giving a proper description :P …user groups are typically independently run, volunteer groups that meet from time to time and share information on a variety of technical topics. So in our language its more like meeting up and getting more out of the Microsoft platforms, products, technologies and resources and that too in a totally inexpensive way!!

Okay, now whatever would follow would be kind of a little boring for some…but definitely informative…. CUG is a non-political, non-profitable group which is run by Microsoft Student Partners (MSPs)….these MSPs represent some of the best technical minds in the country and work very close to Microsoft and so they represent the same across their campuses and region to evangelize Microsoft technologies. The CUG promotes every product that is technology related and support information by providing online help, chats, conducting exciting events etc.

Now in case you did not doze off on that…lol…here is the selection criteria to be a member of the CUG!!!

After being identified with their general qualifications, attitudes and reasons for participating, successful applicants then go through a selection process where they are assessed on the basis of:
1.       Leadership skills
2.       Communication skills
3.       Marketing skills
4.       Technical skills
5.       Managements skills

In case you feel you can pull that down, then the next thing you need to do is register yourself for appearing in the selection by submitting Rs. 50/- to the respective CRs of your class along with your e-mail ids. The CR is to submit the same to the members mentioned below.

So after having read all that I guess all you people interested in technology would definitely take part in this event. So gear up and be ready…\m/ :D

Oyeeeeeeeeeee…..the team members you can contact for the registration for the selections are:

Tarun Puri (CSE-3)                                            contact no:-9888004497
Gagandeep Singh (CSE-3)
